Book Review By MamaLuvsBooks:
"All in the Family" is a collection of 101 stories relating to funny, quirky, lovable, and "dysfunctional" families. I love the beginning where it talks about families:

"Families are all so different and yet the same. They're complicated and yet simple. They're a burden, but also a blessing. They're often the source of our greatest joys, but also our deepest pain. They can build us up and tear us down. Families add richness and complexity to our lives." - All in the Family
This quote from the book really hits home. It's all so true. We have had ups and downs within our family over the years. I love how the contributors in the book (especially the "Family Secrets" section) can be so open and honest. I'm sure I could write some stories of my own about my family, but writing it and putting everything out there would be tough.
I could relate to a story in the book about finding a long lost relative that someone did not even know they had in their life. I had a recent and wonderful experience this year that was similar. That's one thing I really love about this book, the fact that almost anyone will find some way to relate to the family stories.
THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE BOOK: 1. It is fun to read with many short stories to choose from
2. It has relevant topics that anyone can relate to 3. The stories are short and sweet; great for a pick-up and put down book 4. Some stories are very touching 5. Love the stories that are funny
6. It has 101 stories that all have a different life lessons
7. It's received other positive reviews on Amazon About Author Susan M. Heim (a contributing author of the book who is donating a signed copy): Susan M. Sponsored by MamaLuvsBooks (Picture from Amazon.com) Book Review By MamaLuvsBooks: I decided to read "Tired of School" by, Dicy McCullough with my kids because every single morning my 4-year old son gives me a hard time about going to school. He says, "Mom, I don't want to go to school. I'm tired of school!" I'm thinking really buddy, and you're only in preschool! This book was cute because the main character was tired of school as well, but discovers throughout the book what he does like about school and then he likes it in the end. After reading this with my kids we brainstormed some ideas about what is FUN about school. Now in the mornings I can say, "Are you sure you don't want to go and see what fun things you're going to do today? Maybe it's something fun and cool like at John Allen's school?" THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE BOOK: 1. It is easy to read (my 2nd grader reads it to my 4-year old son) 2. It has a nice rhyme pattern to it 3. It has cute illustrations 4. You can connect the story to real life to educate kids 5. My kids think it's fun to read and it's 28 pages 6. It is a nice large-sized paperback book 7. The TWIN-BUZZ: World News about Multiples FEB 19 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 63 Day Sixty-three of Twinipedia: Fact #63 Because breast milk provides the most complete nourishment for newborns, many mothers of twins choose to breastfeed. TwinsMagazine.com shares that although many moms of twins worry there won't be enough milk for two, this is generally not a problem. Frequent nursing stimulates milk production so most often then not, there is plenty of milk for both babies. So if you can manage it and want to nurse your twins, go for it, get them weighed in as often as your MD requests to be sure that they are getting the nourishment they need and enjoy the bonding process. FEB 18 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 62 Day Sixty-two of Twinipedia: Fact #62 When you have a twin, and they move thousands of miles away, most twins will feel like a part of them is missing. Especially when they then find out that the twin far, far away is going to be gone for another 3 years, in addition to the 1.5 years she has already been gone. Yup, getting personal on twinipedia today but I think this information would be a fact for most Twins and for how they feel about their other half. FEB 17 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 61 Day Sixty-one of Twinipedia: Fact #61 Newborns who are breastfed typically nurse 7 to 10 times per day when they are about a month old. On average, twins who nurse tend to be smaller babies at birth so they may need to nurse a little more frequently since they may eat less while they nurse and will need all those good calories to help them grow big and healthy. FEB 16 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 60 Day Sixty of Twinipedia: Fact #60 When you're pregnant with twins, you'll need to eat at least 2,700 calories each day. You'll probably be prescribed extra vitamins and minerals to take. FEB 15 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 59 Day Fifty-nine of Twinipedia: Fact #59 Quarternary Marriage...What is this? Does it mean marriage that occurs in the 4th quarter of a year (October-December)? Is it a marriage that only lasts for 1/4 of a year, or 3 months? Are all the monetary presents these couples receive given in quarter coins? Or is it a marriage between 2 people who share 1 of their 4 parents? Well, until today, your guess would have been as good as ours. 1 FEB 14 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 58 Day Fifty-eight of Twinipedia: Fact #58 Today is Valentine's Day. Known as the day of love and for celebrating those that make your heart skip-a-beat. Because it is this special holiday, we thought we'd celebrate by focusing on the heartbeats of twins on this "heart-filled" day. When twin babies are In Utero, the sound of their 2 heart beats can be the first sign to an Obgyn that there are 2 babies developing. But this diagnostic test is not always accurate. FEB 13 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 57 Day Fifty-seven of Twinipedia: Fact #57 The average weight of twins at term is about 5.5 lbs/baby. So the average woman carrying twins will carry ~ 11 lbs. of baby during the her pregnancy and the average time frame of twin pregnancies is about 36 weeks, 3 days (averaged to 37 weeks by some MDs). Some scientist even spend their whole lives studying twins. TwinsMagazine.com found that the scientific study of twins is known as "gemellology". Guess those scientists even think Twins are true "gems" to their families too. FEB 11 365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 55 Day Fifty-five of Twinipedia: Fact #55 I did not know this and I think if I had known it prior to having kids, I may have thought twice about getting pregnant.
