You all have to make so many decisions about how to raise these independently unique yet undeniably connected little people in a way that shows respect for who they are as individuals yet also respects the fact that they are twins and are connected in a very real way.
One thing that we have always wondered about is how twin parents navigate the process of choosing a medical doctor for their twins? We are especially curious to learn how parents of fraternal twins that are of opposite genders decide what gender their MD should be, or if they choose to give each twin their own pediatrician to match the twins gender.
Or, do you not even worry about this aspect of medical care for now and just go with who you like when choosing and then plan to address the gender part later when the twins are older and if it becomes an issue for either twin.
We hope you will share your doctor selection experience with us? We are so curious about how you all make these tough decisions for your babes.
I think finding a pediatrician that you trust can be difficult. We don't have twins, but even for just singles it's a BIG DECISION. We constantly talk about looking around for others too. I just find of fell into the one we chose because they had room. Thanks for the interesting post.
ReplyDeleteChoosing a pediatrician is one of the biggest decisions that parents will have to make. Pick someone you trust. Asking close friends and relatives for recommendations is a good place to start. It is also a good idea to select someone who has an easy manner with kids.
