365 Days of Twinipedia - Day 89

Day Eighty-nine of Twinipedia:

Fact #89
Now I have a hard time some days keeping up with my kiddies and I am 40 years old.  I can't even imagine how these parents, the mother being 72 and the father being 75, being able to have and raise new born twins. reported that "the world's oldest mom of twins or any child officially became Omkari Panwar, age 72, on June 27, 2008. Panwar and her 75-year-old husband, Charam Singh, live in a rural village in Uttar Pradesh, India and had two grown daughters and five grandchildren at the time they made the decision to spend their life savings and undergo in-vitro to try to produce a son. Mrs. Panwar had a difficult pregnancy but did deliver boy/girl twins to become the oldest mom of twins."

Omkari is a better woman than me.  To get pregnant and give birth to twins at 72 years of age so that she and her husband could have a son is so not something I could ever do.  I know the culture they live in is very male-dominated and male-driven but wowzer, pregnancy was tough enough at 28.  72? FORGET IT!  I think I would have been in bed 24/7.  I guess I can say the more power to them but NO THANKS!
